Many photographers, myself included, offer maternity and newborn packages. There are so many reasons why these are a good idea, so I’m going to tell couple of reasons in case you are deciding between just having one session or combining both.

I offer a discount when you book both sessions together.  This way we can get to know each other before I  come over your house and capture you with your newborn baby. In my experience, many clients are trying to decide whether or not a maternity session is something that they want. Lots of women tend to feel uncomfortable in their skin while they are pregnant and don’t necessarily want to be in front of the camera or  to remember how they feel thirty pounds heavier. Still, I am here to tell you that you that this special time in your life deserves to be documented.

The maternity session helps you remember the time you will never get back. You may not feel as glorious right now, but looking back, you will be glad to see these images and remember that time when  your body grew a tiny person inside it. You will be so glad to look through those images. 

If you do choose to do both, the package will offer you savings and you’ll get to know me, your photographer and I  can get to know you and your partner, as well as any other kids you have. You will be tired and overwhelmed and excited the next time I see you. And you will be grateful to see a familiar face and not to have to introduce yourself for the first time to a stranger coming to your home. 

This couple, for example, trusted me and got to know me while capturing their maternity session. This session, just like many of my maternity sessions was a combination of both an at home and outside location. This way I was familiar with their home and once the baby was born everyone was ready and comfortable with me. 

Since you can opt for an album with my shoots, you have the added benefit of putting both your maternity and newborn session in one book for you to have and pass down for generations.
