Brooklyn Bridge Park & Dumbo Photoshoot Guide For Families
If you ask me for the BEST photography spot in New York City I would always tell you that nothing is better than Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo area of Brooklyn. This location offers variety of landscapes, Manhattan skyline, the views of both Mantthan and Brooklyn Bridge. At the end of your session with me it will be hard for you to choose JUST one favorite photo to hang on your wall.
All of these unique spots in the area will make your photoshoot New York so much more memorable. As a Brooklyn Family photographerit is my favorite place to capture beautiful memories in a unique and picturesque location.
What does DUMBO stand for - “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge overpass”!
Below are my some of my favorite spots that we will visit during your family session with Alimegreendream Photography.
MANHATTAN SKYLINE/BROOKLYN BRDIGE VIEW
Whether you are a native New Yorker or here for a vacation photo sessionwhat can be better than the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge as a backdrop for your photos.
JANES CAROUSEL
This vintage carousel built in 1922 with 48 carousel horses spinning around on it. Offering fun and whimsical setting sitting behind a wall of glass which makes the prettiest backdrop for your Brooklyn family photos. Plus you can add a ride on the carousel at the end of your session as a special surprise for your kiddos!
WASHINGTON/WATER STREET
This is an iconic spot with the glorious view of Manhattan Bridge, it is no wonder it is always packed with tourists it is such an instagrammable
location. You can’t go wrong when including this iconic shot into your family photos.
MAX FAMILY GARDEN
I love this quirky and unique space. The garden is set amongst the red brick walls of an old tobacco warehouse. I love the mix of greenery with the juxtaposition of the brick walls, giving it a completely different look for your Dumbo family photoshoot.
OLD PIER 1
This area provides a unique view and backdrop of New York City. The pylons, the remains of the old pier stand few feet above the water providing rusting setting of the East river. With the surrounding boulders that kids often jump to and from during the session providing a fun little stop for them to release some energy.
GRANITE PROSPECT
These dramatic set of steps built from over 300 pieces of granite stones salvaged from the Roosevelt Island Bridge reconstruction provide another area that your family can use to sit down giving you one more background for family portraits.
PEBBLE BEACH
Located along the East River, this small beach area is very popular with tourists, however photographing it with various angles gives us another great shot of Manhattan skyline and both Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. It’s a great spot for capturing candid and playful moments of your kids bouncing rocks into the river.
MANHATTAN BRIDGE VIEW
Right by Janes Carousel is a path from which you walk to pebble beach or Time Out Market passing by huge boulders and the view Manhattan Bridge on your left.
COLORFUL MURAL OFF YORK STREET
This one is a bit of a “hidden gem”, but it’s a really unique spot to bring that pop of color into your photos.
