What To Expect: Maternity Photography in Brooklyn, NY and Beyond

Congratulations Mama-to-be! 

Mamas often reflect on images from their maternity session and it makes them realize how special pregnancy truly was. Many mamas-to-be have been apprehensive about wanting to do photos at the time, but in the end they were happy they took that plunge. 

I  am here to guide you through what to expect throughout the process so you feel prepared for your maternity photo session. 

What To Expect From Your Maternity Session

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

I recommend scheduling your maternity session anywhere between 30-36 weeks. The timing is based on how you feel and how much your belly is showing. 

I will also help you choose your wardrobe and location for your photo session.
Since my sessions tend to be around 2 hours long it gives you time to change. Particularly the session can be broken in two parts -where we start at the comfort of your home and move to an outdoor location. This will give you option to change into two outfits.

I always suggest choosing outfits that allow for movement, comfort and focus on your belly. If you are not too much into dressing up we can find an outfit that makes you feel both comfortable and show off your belly.  

If you are going to be joined by your family - Partner and/or kids, I will suggest wardrobe ideas for them as well to coordinate with what you will be wearing. 

DURING THE SESSION

It is my job to help you the whole time and to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I  will guide you into various positions, those that are flattering to your bump. 

The goal is to help you feel like a goddess who’s carrying life’s miracle. 

I will give you lots of prompts and encouragement so you can look and feel your best. During my sessions we tend to walk a lot to get a variety of poses and backgrounds.  With the amount of time that we have during the session we will have time for both individual photos and incorporating partners, siblings and even pets. 

AFTER THE SESSION

You will receive your edited gallery in about 2 weeks from the session.  That link can be shared with friends and family, and you can download all the photos which are yours to keep. 

My galleries are linked directly to an online store, and one of the best features is that I love is that you can view your images directly on the products that are offered. I also offer custom album design to give your albums that super polished professional look (saves you time + stress).
