Must Have Shots From Your In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Photoshoot
Family photoshoots can be fun and we can create beautiful memories for your children to treasure forever.
To help you get the best out of your photoshoot with ALimeGreenDream Photography I put together some tips to help you prepare your family.
Whether our photoshoot takes place at home or outside in your favorite location it is a great opportunity for your family to spend time together, have fun and have portraits taken.
1.Prepare the kids.
Tell your family about the photoshoot and get them exited. Tell them that a friend is coming to spend time with them and at the same time take some photos.
Don’t be afraid to offer some incentive for after the shoot. Going out for pizza, ice cream or some candy.
Whatever works fo your family!
Frame the experience not like a chore, but for them and you to have fun!
2. Make sure everyone is well fed, and rested.
It is important to schedule your family photoshoot around nap and feed time. Not too close to bed time or nap so the kids are restful and happy and have enough energy to play.
3. What should we wear?
The most common questions I get are about -what to wear?
You can always run your ideas for family outfits, and I will always suggest what will look best for the camera.
The most important -is that everyone is comfortable in whatever it is they will wear.
Confidence comes through if you are happy with what you are wearing. If you feel relaxed and happy, you’ll look relaxed and happy.
4. What should you bring?
Don’t bring a lot with you if our shoot is outside. I don’t want anything distracting in our photos.
Snacks and water are always encouraged.
Make sure that whatever snacks you bring that they are not something that can get your kiddos dirty or things that can get stuck in teeth.
5. What should we do?
Is there an activity you love doing together as a family? Bring it!
Blowing bubbles, kicking a soccer ball, these all make for nice photos.
It will make it more fun for the kids and you!
6. Family Pet
Whether our sessions take place at the comfort of your home or outside in a park I encourage you to include the family dog/cat in the photo shoot.
If your dog is well behaved and won’t bark when it is tied up on the side and when not participating- you can bring them to a park with us as well.
Consider your dog’s temperament before bringing them to the shoot. If they are normally loud and crazy at the park, will they be able to sit and pay attention?
