5 Reasons to Choose an in home family session in New York
I love when families choose to have their family photographs taken in the comfort of their home. New York City has plenty of stunning outdoor parks and locations and I absolutely love those photoshoots as well… However, let me explain of beautiful magic that can happen with an in-home family session!
#1 : In-home family sessions are unique to you and YOU alone!
No one can have the images you will have because they are taken in YOUR space. Your home is reflection of you and your life, doesn’t mater what furniture you have, or how big or small your place is or how clean or messy it is. It is YOUR story and it’s completely worth documenting. Think back to the time you did not have kids or lived in a different place with your partner, think back to what it looked like and remember those special days and how they made you feel.
#2 : You don't have to worry about the weather!
Families tend to rush to have their sessions in the fall with the beautiful foliage of the parks. But, in the summer it can be too hot or too cold in the winter. We can’t control the weather and in-home sessions that all that stress away! We just set the time and day and GO!
#3 : No Commute!
If you are a parent of young kids, or multiple kids, it’s a big deal to get them out the door. In-home sessions mean you don’t have to get in the car or prep snacks, or worry about your kiddos falling asleep on the drive to our destination. And the most important thing when it comes to NY - traffic and parking!
#4: We are in the space your children feel most comfortable in.
Their home -is their safe space. Little ones tend to crave comfort while encountering new people or situations. A photoshoot with a stranger can be a lot for little ones, and being in their home will allow them to be comfortable. At home they are more at ease with a new persons, as they have their toys or anything else that makes them feel safe and at ease.
#5 : A reason to connect and slow down.
This is the time to slow down with your loved ones. Being at home will help you relax and connect without distractions. there is no rush when we are at your home, no traffic or parking issues, and if there is a spill or spit up we have all the time to change. If there are tears, we have the space for comfort. And I’ll be there to document and preserve it all for you.
